Mateusz Gamrot showed Ludovit Klein that there are levels when it comes to lightweight contention.
The Slovakian known as “Mr. Highlight” entered the UFC Vegas 107 headliner on a seven-fight unbeaten streak, but he was largely neutralized by his Polish opponent’s grappling over the course of three rounds in a unanimous decision defeat. For Gamrot, it was a welcome return to form following a split-decision loss to Dan Hooker in his last outing at UFC 305. The former KSW champion has won eight of his last 10 Octagon appearances, and while his latest victory won’t improve his standing, he remains entrenched in Sherdog’s lightweight Top 10.

Meanwhile, a matchup of bantamweight contenders became a 145-pound affair when Ketlen Vieira couldn’t make weight for her showdown with Macy Chiasson. Perhaps in large part because she didn’t have to endure a taxing weight cut, Vieira then cruised past Chiasson in their makeshift featherweight matchup. While Vieira celebrated the victory like the mishap on the scale never happened, it doesn’t do anything for her standing in the 135-pound poll.
