Four Fighters Get 'Performance of the Night' Bonuses at UFC Shanghai

Johnny Walker’s first victory in more than two years earned him a little extra cash.

The Brazilian received a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” award for his second-round technical knockout victory against Mingyang Zhang in the UFC Shanghai headliner on Saturday at the Shanghai Indoor Stadium. After struggling some in the opening stanza, Walker hurt his foe with calf kicks before sealing his victory with a barrage of punches at the 2:37 mark of Round 2.

Elsewhere, Charles Johnson pocketed a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” check for his finish of the previously undefeated Lone'er Kavanagh in their flyweight encounter. Johnson gradually wore his foe down before putting him away with a right hook 4:35 into the second stanza.

Returning Daukaus Nets $50K

In his first Octagon appearance since 2022, Kyle Daukaus captured a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus by making short work of Michel Pereira in a middleweight affair. Daukaus dropped his Brazilian adversary early and then attacked with punches and elbows, forcing a stoppage just 43 seconds into Round 1.

Finally, Uran Satybaldiev garnered the card’s final $50,000 “Performance of the Night” payment thanks to a first-round submission of Diyar Nurgozhay in a preliminary light heavyweight bout. Satybaldiev dropped his man with a right hook before transitioning to an Ezekiel choke to elicit a tapout at the 2:45 mark of Round 1.
